Line Assignments

Bec,
These will shift around as they always do. I know we have quite a few items under your name, Dave and I already have a pretty tight idea on what these will or could be so hopefully that will help you. The projects under Claudia's name to be art directed will be closely watched by Dave and I, we just really need her help to get this all done. It is the most ambitious line art wise we have attempted. Take a look at all of this we have taken lots of time to put this all together probably too much. This still is not a complete presentation, but we have got to get rolling on art to meet the deadlines. In a few weeks we will have one full time printer in the back and we have got to space out the art better so we can get it all done.

Dave and I are excited and skeptical all at the same time about the wine and gambling categories. Our goal is to have these two categories to the reps by the end of the week to get feed back from them on the statements and art styles. We are also going to see if they will show these designs to some key accounts early to get feedback.

Rough Catalog Layout for Everyday '08

This is the first draft of the catalog layout, it will evolve as the products do.

Key Intro. Dates for Everyday '08

Thoughts about the line

Dave and I have put a lot of thinking into this intro. We speak to lots of customers these days, over and over again they want white sleepers with art like we used to have. I know in the past few intros we have been trying to make things different looking, updated etc.. Dave and I feel we need to look at the past and grow it up a bit and offer our customers what we do well...sleep shirts with whimsey and fun art. We want more hand drawn art than we have had in the past couple of intros. We would love for you to do some illustrations. I know Dave and I want to really take some time to do some really nice illustrations ourselves this intro. We will also be using some outside illustrators for some of the products as well. Take a good look at the white "Shoes to die for" sleeper under the "White Sleepers" section. For us this sleeper art is very similar to old Relevant but in a more elegant and sophisticated way. We all love the look of this art.

From what Dave and I can gather, our customers are missing the art of the past, we want to bring this feel back but with Dave and I's flavor. We have tried to develop new items that are linked to successful products so our customers will feel safe in buying. I don't want to bog you down with too many details about all our decisions, look it all over and let us know what you think.

We will be posting the line assignments soon so you can look at that and see who is doing what.

Mare and Dave

Summer Products

The thinking:
2 summer tees and 2 drinking tees to create 2 assortments for the boutique display with the blue pants.
2 drinking cover-ups and 2 summer themed cover-ups.

Mare is going to hand paint the flip flops on “If the flop flop fits...” To create the summer version of 611 shoes with many different kinds of flip flop, girlie, sporty and over the top, etc..

Keep:
“Drinks Well...” tee
Blue Leopard pants
“Where’s my Margarita” cover-up

New:
“The Mojito the Merrier” tee
2 new turquoise summer statement tees (still working on statements)
“If the flip flop fits...” cover-up
“Shore Things” cover-up (not sure about this one, this product is still in major flux)

Gambling Goddess and Southern Tees

The Thinking:
These is a huge grown of casinos and they have large gift shops, we have kicked this around before and we want to follow through this time with it.

Drinks wine with others Products

The thinking:
2 tees and 1 sleeper, we need to give the vineyard gift shops enough products to order. We have been getting requests for this theme. We brought my mom in and she loved the statement on the sleeper. This group will be on the page preceding the 5 o’clock section. One of the reasons they won't be shown on the 5 o'clock page is because the tees won't go with the pink pants. These tees are over and over again purchased alone and not with the pants.

New:
“Fullbodied, Sweet...” lavender sleeper
“Drinks wine with others” tee to match 5 ‘oclock tees
One more tee about wine drinking printed here.

5 o'clock Products

The thinking:
Keep existing. No new on this spread. The preceding spread will have the new matching wine tee and other wine products.

Pink Baroque Sleepers

The thinking:
They are selling nicely, will keep on the line.

The Queen

The thinking:
The Queen tee and pants in the black and red are 2 of the most popular items on the winter line. These colors are also a nice break from all the pink and blue in the line. We had products in these exact colors on the everyday line last year and the sales we very good on that set.

We really tried to make a blue queen set work here, but it was really forced and the statement just didn't make sense on the blue.
Keep:
The Queen tee, black
Black Baroque pants
The Queen sleeper, red

Mommy Products

The Thinking: Our hospital account base has grown and we want to make sure to offer some great new products for them. The pink and blue sleepers are roughs. But it would be an assortment in the boutique display with both the blue and pink sleepers for new mothers.

We also continue with Mommy Needs Sleep ensemble, adding 2 new items: a white tee, and coordinating AOP capri pants. We feel it's a good time to build onto the M.N.S. theme, and the tee/capri combo has done well for us. In many categories we now have a sleeper, tee and capri pant, the Queen, 611 Shoes etc..

Infant Onesies

The thinking: The 6 infant onesies introduced last year are selling great. They will carry over with no drops.

Boys Tees & Dress-ups

The thinking:

Boys Tees:
Many rep requests for boys tees. We propose a group of four colorful designs. Here's an idea...
We package in cans and sell as an assortment.

Dress Ups
It is best in the everyday line to keep 6 everyday and 6 dance. We want to get rid of All American Girl, Fairytale Princess, Mommy's Angel and Swan Lake. The sales on the Mommy's Angel for winter have been average. The new designs for this intro. would be updated flag girl, mermaid and recital time girl.

Sleepover and Girls Tanks

The Thinking: Terry asked us to do something with the thousands of white/pink girls tanks we still have on hand. The four designs shown above target very specific girls activities. They will be packaged in the Dress Ups packaging, and offered as an assortment. We will design a custom header and use the Dress Ups countertop cardboard display with the assortment.

Sleepover Big Tee and Pillowcase carry over from Winter 2007.
